Dr Lynda O’Callaghan, a native of Tralee, completed her undergraduate training in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland after being awarded an entrance scholarship. Following this she undertook specialist training with the General Practice Vocational Scheme in Cork. She worked in Cork University Hospital, Mercy University Hospital and Marymount Hospice. During this time she was awarded a Diploma in Woman’s Health, a Diploma in Child Health and completed post graduate training in contraception and fertility care. She worked as a General Practitioner Partner for 10 years in Cork before returning to her native Kerry.
She has a keen interest in women’s health, particularly contraception and menopause management, Long Acting Reversal Contraception and Intra-uterine coils. She is very experienced in Subfertility/Infertility assessment and management. She recently completed The Diabetes in Primary Care module through University College Cork.
She enjoys attending GAA and Rugby games. She has also acted as a team doctor to her own club Kerins O’Rahillys, Templenoe in their successful All Ireland Club Campaign, and the Kerry Senior Football Team.
